Interment Rules & Regulations

An order in writing is required from the lot owner whenever a grave is to be opened. In the absence of written notice, the Cemetery will not be responsible for errors in the locations of interments.

Cremated remains will not be permitted to be scattered in any part of the Cemetery.

The interment of cremains will be permitted only in appropriate rigid receptacles such as wood, metal plastic, concrete, etc.

Funerals arriving thirty minutes after the specified arrival time will be charged for each half hour or part thereof.

All funerals, processions and vehicles will be under the control of the Superintendent while on the Cemetery grounds.

**Due to unstable ground, Oakwood Cemetery will require that a concrete liner or concrete burial vault be used in Section V, and or any other section deemed unsafe by the cemetery.
